melancholia

So, Kirsten Dunst is really good at wearing clothes. I saw this film actually months ago, but couldn't find good stills to blog until now, really. In a lot of ways, it kind of reminded me of Last Year at Marienbad, from an aesthetic point of view (yes, I have only seen two films.) And both films made me think about what is maybe missing in all the other films I've been sitting around watching lately: decadent trimmings. Loads of gold. A look of wealth and ruffles and feathers. Who needs gritty, urban realism? Let me live vicariously through Kirsten Dunst's monstrously huge wedding dress for another two hours.
