Mulberry Spring 2012, ph. Tim Walker
The most disappointing and yet glaringly obvious thing I've learned so far in college is that giant absurd props in fashion editorial aren't actually giant and absurd and completely-made. That isn't a real giant stick of rock, for example. It probably stops just outside the frame. And in real life, it might not even resemble a giant stick of rock until it's photographed the right way. That is disappointing, isn't it? I would still like a giant stick of rock. Seeing what goes on behind the curtain is not always as crackpot-magical as Tim Walker would have you believe. Sorry to ruin the illusion for you all.
(My wardrobe door is a collage of Tim Walker editorials from Vogue with models sitting atop giant gloves and wearing giant strings of pearls and so on. The magic is a good thing. Pretend I never told you otherwise!)

Or maybe those are just really tiny people? xo
ReplyDeleteI'll pretend u never said all that and I'll keep on believing..
